A shaft standing aerial tramway has always been the only connection between the Limmernsee and Muttsee water storages.
Development of the power plant leads to intensified use of the Muttseebahn. Its operator, the Kraftwerke Linth-Limmern AG, therefore charged Inauen-Schätti with the new construction, production and assembly of vehicle and winch - with very little space and under enormous time pressure.
