Avalanche trigger system, Hochalpila, Montafon

The 4 explosion masts with 10 throw charges at 2.7 kg avalanche explosive each were set up at the end of September 2011 in wonderful weather conditions. Completely equipped, they protect the slopes below and the newly created connectable gondola.

By radio connection from PC to the masts, explosives cartridges can be driven from the ejection boxes at just the right time to trigger artificial avalanches. This efficient and quick way of artificial avalanche triggering means quick opening of the slopes and security for the slope and rescue management.
