15-ATW Küssnacht – Seebodenalp

Inauen-Schätti AG and Garaventa AG built a new compact tramway on the Seebodenalp plateau as a replacement for the old aerial tramway. The tramway has a length of 2173 m, climbing a height of 566 m. The gold-coloured cabins for 15 people have ten seats, meaning there is enough space for prams or bikes. Fully automated doors make entering or exiting the cabins simple. The transportation capacity of the new system is 110 people per hour. A trip to the Seebodenalp takes ca. 8 minutes. As the new tramway is located in the heart of Küssnacht, the track is kept narrower until the first tower to make the most of limited space.
